Let’s start with some fun facts!

I have 4 dictionaries and 32 language apps on my phone, I have 3 cats, and I cut my own hair!

I used to play the piano, my family does karaoke for every special occasion, and I have a gift for memorizing song lyrics. Because of that, I use music as language practice frequently and I make a great song translator. I’m excited to branch out into more creative fields!

When I reached the age to think about careers, I took a certain motto to heart: “find something you love to do and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” As someone who hopes to be a lifelong student and is endlessly fascinated by the languages, dialects, idioms, and slang of the world, I feel fulfilled as a translator.

It is a privilege to read on the job, consult articles and dictionaries, and learn something new from every project. I am proud to be a part of such a multicultural and international industry.

Being able to work from anywhere has allowed me to move from the United States to Mexico as of July 2026, where I work from my home office in Guadalajara, the birthplace of mariachi! I decided to move here after spending 4 months in Guadalajara for an immersion program in 2023. I’m happy to be reunited with the friends I made during that time!

After studying at the Metropolitan State University of Denver for a Spanish and Translation certificate, I spent one year working for a language service provider (LSP) as a translation project manager. Having been on both sides of the industry has helped me to understand the pressure that my project managers and clients face, and how I can alleviate it as a freelance linguist.

I began freelancing in November of 2024. During my experience as a freelance translator so far, I have focused on media and entertainment, low-register texts, personal documentation, and translation of video transcripts.

I am specialized in song translations. I begin every batch by listening to the songs, reading the lyrics, and dancing to the music to understand each track deeply. More information about my work is available on my Portfolio page.

I am committed to continuing professional development ranging from listening to and singing songs, reading books, and playing games in Spanish to taking courses and seminars and attending professional conferences. See more about my professional development on my Home page.

Five years from now, I hope to have completed many interesting projects in the entertainment and literary sectors. I can’t wait for the day I land my first big project in game localization, comics, film subtitling, board games, or book translation. Translating songs is fascinating, fulfilling creative work and it has confirmed that the creative sector is where I want to be.

In my free time, you can find me reading webtoons or books, singing in Spanish, practicing Japanese (especially in between sets at the gym), watching shows in Spanish with English subtitles to study the translations, playing video games, and enjoying my new surroundings in Mexico with my lovely friends and neighbors.
